People everywhere across America are lining up to decide who wins the race to the White House, some lining up for longer than others thanks to mistakes and breakdowns.

However, soon the voting will be over. The chance to tick the box saying ‘Obama’ or ‘McCain’ will have gone. The time to have your say will have passed. The results start rolling in…

There are many sources from which to get live results from the key states, including the Associated Press’ live stream [from 4pm PT] and New York Time’s mobile text results for those on the move. However, this being a Google blog, we’ll focus on Google’s offering…Google have utilised their Google Maps technology and created their very own mashup to help people follow the results, in real-time, from all the states across the US.

The map allows you to see state-by-state results, then down into county-by-county. It also allows you to view the House and Senate races, should you need a break from the intense Presidential race.

Now to just sit and watch them roll on in…
