Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt has dismissed reports that he is about to leave the Internet search giant in favour of the position as Barak Obama’s Cheif Technical Officer.

Talking to CNBC host Jim Cramer, Schmidt was asked what his answer would be, should Obama ask him to be part of his White House team:

I love working at Google and I’m very happy to stay at Google, so the answer is no

Schmidt was one of Obama’s most high-profile supporters during the rect election campaign. The men met during the race for the White House and again this Friday in Chicago with Obama’s 17-person Transition Economic Advisory Board (TEAB). The group met to discuss how to deal with the ongoing financial crisis.

We suppose that it is only good new for Google, but not so good for America. After overseeing such a monumental rise in Larry Page and Sergei Brin’s company, Obama must have had high hopes for America’s economy with Schmidt on-board.
